Sempai Nancy Y. Reburn Sempai Reburn has been a member of the Phoenix Karate Association since 1981. She was the first woman in the Phoenix Karate Association to achieve her shodan, which she received in 1985. She serves as the organization's Archivist and is a co-instructor at the Rockville dojo for both the adult and karate kids program. She also teaches karate at Beth El Nursery School and at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart both of which are located in Bethesda, MD. Sempai graduated cum laude from Mt. St. Mary's College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. She worked for Price Waterhouse and a commercial real estate company until deciding to stay at home full time to raise her two children. Sempai Reburn is also in charge of marketing and accounting for the Phoenix Karatedo Association, but also enjoys tennis, choral singing and photojournalism.
