The Theme
of this Gashuku was "Training for Life".
It has been
led in Bucha, Kyiv's region the first time. Gashuku was on May 9 - 12, 2002.
All of Geiko were in Ukrainian Hombu - in Bucha. There were 54 attenders, from
5 to 53 years old. There were two Shodan tests and four Yonkyu promotions. Our
Shodan Candidates (Saprykin and Orihovskiy) did very, very good and they have
been shown good Kihon and
very strong spirit. They maintained all requirements and were worthy of title
"Yudansha". The Black Belt ceremony was on May 10 and they continued
to train further as Yudansha and Sempai. They had a Geiko at Midnight on Kata
as our tradition. The main attention had been mentioned on a work with Bo, an
exactly Bo Kata Chion. The work with a Bo was wonderful
and interesting and was exciting.
There are 8
Yudansha in the Ukraine already. Phoenix is continuing to
arise in the Ukraine...
It was the
Cultural Program for Ukrainian Hombu Senior Kohai and guests on May 12 in Kyiv.
It was a sightseeing tour of seeing the historical places, places of formation
the Ukraine as the State, Kyiv's formation. Visiting the Ukrainian-Venezuelan
Restaurant finished this tour. It was an excellent time for amusement and fun.
And a little later after this all our Yudansha had a dinner in an American
Restaurant. It was a lot of talking and all of us had a very good

on March 17, 2002 in Nikopol'. The
Gashuku's emphasize was on Kumite only. A lot of Kumite, about 70 minutes
interrupted fighting. Very good experience for Yudansha and Kohai; different
tactics and strategies. Also long continued theoretical Geiko about tactics,
strategies, kinds of Kumite, etc. There was
good attendance - 60 Phoenix Karateka. The age was from 5 to 53 years.

bokken. All Geiko held in time the heat and rainstorm, where the karateka's

depending from number of participants in the group! This is the first Kumite
Test. It was the effective education real karateka in Martial Art, but not in

weather. All did Ukemi on a snow covering! Soccer on a snow covering, Sayonara.
Especially attention was paid to kata, goshin jitsu, bo jitsu. Everyone
